Coatings applied by plasma spraying enable certain properties of components to be optimized. Depending on the task (e.g. insulation, corrosion protection, reduction of contamination, osteocompatibility, service life of the part), these can be specifically improved. This increases the life expectancy, the system availability and reduces the system operating costs.
Our plasma spray systems are robot-controlled and thus guarantee maximum accuracy and reproducibility.
Our technicians will implement the customer specifications in such a way that the required parameters are achieved.

Plasma spraying for improving the coating quality
Principle: A gas is heated, ionized and accelerated by an electric arc. This creates a plasma jet with a gas speed of up to Mach 2. The temperatures in the plasma jet reach almost 10,000 K, whereby the respective material melts and can be sprayed onto a surface, on which it then cools and forms a layer.

Spray material: Due to the versatility of plasma spray technology, a wide variety of materials can be used for the coating. This ranges from polymers and metals to ceramic materials such as aluminum oxide, titanium oxide and chromium oxide, yttrium oxide or hydroxyapatite.

Properties of the sprayed layers: adjustable layer thickness, roughness, porosity and purity; Tailored exactly to the requirements of our customers and checked by our in-house quality laboratory.
Procedure: After the required specifications have been defined, Cleanpart carries out the entire coating process including tool manufacture, surface preparation as well as ongoing tests and measurements.
